I want to work in the US but the official lottery of green cards says that the UK is not an eligible country?

I have wanted to live in the US for many years and now have decided that I would like to pursue this as my children are adults now. I love California particularly although I did look at a business idea in New England. I have found that the official site only welcomes people from African and Middle Eastern countries for the green card lottery. Any ideas would be welcome...thanks so much Kim

Unless you have family member or a job offer in the United States, otherwise it is almost impossible to come to the United States.
