Renouncing American citizenship and taking an oath as Iraqi citizen is not illegal because what is illegal is treason wherein you provide military secrets to the Iraqi rebels.

If you are willing to give up your citizenship from the greatest country in the world that gives you the freedom to do so. I say do it, and quit asking for handouts and leave our country.
