For example, if you are in London, and you enter the US Embassy there, you are in US Territory, and subject to US laws.

Yes if an embasy is on foreign land then the ground that is owned by that embassy is actually property of the country that the embassy is from. That is why when people go to another country and either don't want to be arrested or can claim ammunity because they were on another countries soil.
