what are the consequences if this person is caught????arrest deportation???especially id they are petitioning to live here legaly...what are the chances of getting caught if this person is a quiet person and does not cause trouble. Can there status be fixed while remaining in the states???

as to whether the person is quietly living illegally in a country ,he is still consider a law breaker and the chances of his status changing, will probably be none,deportation will be applied,
it is illegal.
but? if he is being petionned to stay in the US, why break the law?
it seems best to wait in his home country until the petition goes trough,
by breaking the law,he is loosing all his chances of ever being there legally,
he is defeating the purpose of being sponsored;
