hmmmm its faster if u want to bring ur fiance to USA. U just need to get the papers ready and prove that the two of u r engaged wiht pictures n stuff .... the visa granted is K2 visa. U have i think 30 or 60 days to get married in the US and register the same.
But if its ur spouse then the waiting period is minimum 1 year n that happens because they just wanna see proof that u will b able to support ur wife and wont put her on social security.
I wud suggest K2 visa. |

The above posting is incorrect. A K-2 visa is for a minor children of a K-1 visa holder. A K-1 visa is a fiance visa but only for prospective spouse of US citizens, not green card holders.
You have to sponsor your spouse abroad and the wait time for a visa number is 4-5 years as other have stated. If your are an Indian, Mexican, Chinese or Filipino citizen the wait can indeed be longer.

If the green card holder is a lawful permanent resident then he should be able to start the process immediately. You should definitely talk to an attorney. Immigration law is one of the most complicated areas of the law to master (probably second only to tax law). And new changes are happening all the time to immigration law. For example, there is no more INS it's now called the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and that is now part of the Department of Homeland Security.

As an LPR, you can start the process immediately but the wait is going to take forever in some cases in countries such as in India, Mexico or the Philippines it could take up to 10 years. The processing is much faster as an USC or US Citizen. |

I am a US green card (conditional) holder.I am wonderin if I can travel to US Virgin Island ,Hawii and Alaska without any problem.... taking the green card and my Philippine passport with the US spousal visa stamp in it.?
