How much would an interpreter working in an embassy be paid?
Supposing he translated Russian,Chinese or any rare, difficult language.

If it's a very difficult language like Chinese or Russian, they could be paid enough to live in the 50-60K range at least. However, there's native speakers from these languages who can translate for them and speak their language, too. They are out there, and I'm sure this is not an occupation lacking workers.

p.s. Foreign language high school teachers are much needed! Bingo!
