St Petersburg, Moscow, and north is in Europe, and parts that border Afghanistan, Iran, and that area are considered part of Asia.

Part of Russia lies in Europe and part lies in Asia. There is no longer a royal family ruling Russia (not since the Russian Revolution). The Romanovs (who were deposed in 1918) were cousins to the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (later Windsor) royal family of England and the Hohenzollern royal family of Germany. |

Historically, Russia has been considered Eastern Europe. Yes, the politicl borders are both European and Asian. Most of Russia's population is Caucasian, not Mongoloid so that is supportive of it being European. What difference does it make? We're all part of one planet, and borders are lines on a piece of paper. |
