Is Salute Visa a rip off?

Salute Visa closed my account in Dec 08 because the program had been discontinued. Since then, I've still made my monthly payments, yet my balance won't go down. I am so tired of getting calls from India call centers asking me for more money. What can I do to make this stop?

This card program was cancelled Dec 08, and I've been paying it still, because I am still liable for the $500 limit. The amount I owe, will not go down. What am I doing wrong?

You may want to repost this in the credit card section. This is the embassy and consulate section which talks about the kinds of visas that go in passports and let you travel to other countries ...

But just by way of comment: read your statement. You'll never pay off a high balance credit card by making only a minimum payment. Your interest accrues faster than you're paying down the principal.
