Much of the foreign aid that is pledged rarely gets there but what does get through is targeted more specifically than just being handed out willy nilly, or that from the West.

China has now stepped in handing out cash continuing the corruption and in turn raping the countries of their reserves just as the west did in the past.

Just look at the countries the President of Communist China visited recently.

There are hundreds of small projects helping them, computers into villages, small solar power panels to charge a battery during the day so a tiny hut will have a few extra hours of light each day.
Clever people are coming up with all sorts of adaptations to simplify things.
Instead of hours by women when they pump water a merry go round ( carousal) for kids to play on is used to pump water into a header tank.
There is so much being done and so little media attention to these ideas it is a crying shame

The amount of foreign aid going to Africa is a tiny fraction of what people suppose it is. No wonder it isn't accomplishing much.

foreign aid is needed but not to the extent that the people becomes social mendicants and just wait for things to be handed down to them, let teach them how to farm instead of giving them rice or wheat, let teach them how to fish instead of just giving them fish, there are a lot of technical know how or other agricultural advancement that we can teach them to do even in the places where drought and environmental abuse is prevalent. let teach them to dig wells and make irrigations system viable instead of just handing them bottled water. give them jobs instead of just giving them money and other temporary, band-aid solutions to the problem. lets get rid of corruption and politicians who don't care about there people only of themselves. god bless them all!
