Is it legal to take you biological child to another country without the written concent of the other parent?

No. I went through the same thing when I wanted to bring my son to Panama. His father had to give written consent for him to get his passport.

In order to obtain a passport for a minor child, both parents need to present themselves to the passport office or if only one can appear, the other parent must submit an authorization with a notarized signature. The laws have changed dramatically with the increase in "international kidnapping". For countries that don't require passports, you must present a letter from the other parent (notarized), authorizing you to travel outside the US with the minor child. (You also need this letter just to board most international airlines). I took my husband and daughter to the airport, checked them in, and was still required to go to the notary at the airport , notarize my authorization for them to be issued their boarding passes(this was in addition to her US passport). Some countries will even detain you in their immigration/custom areas should you "slip by" at the airport until the other parent can be contacted and notarized authorization is faxed to them. After all, the child "belongs" to both of you! Hope that helps!

Depends on what state you live in. I believe it would be best to talk a to a lawyer about it, and the other parent as well. Without their permission, you could get into some serious trouble.

As long as you are still married to each other and not legally separated...yes. I took my minor age son to a foreign country without his mother's permission. We were still married and she thought it was a good idea to have a father and son camping trip.. If the child is 18 or older, no permission is required.

Technically, Mexico requires written permission from the absent parent if one parent is entering with a minor child. Other countries have a similar requirement. However, it is not always enforced.

no it isn't !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my ex's "ex" took their two kids to AZ when they were 2. we got a court order to pick them up, so we did. then they ended up staying in the custody of the father for the rest of their lives. they are now 15.

oh, and prior to the time , she the mother had physical custody of them.

and it was kidnapping charges.

My mom does/did it with my brother and I, and although, at the borders, they told her that it was reccomended to have our dad' written consent, they didn't arrest her or anything
