i was reading up on it, but it was really confusing me.

i was born in australia. my mother was too. both my mother's parents were born in italy and were italian citizens when she was born.
and i am 20 now.

Yes you can, as long as your mother or your grandparents never actively renounced her citizenship, e.g. when they emigrated to Australia. Also, most likely your mother will have had to be born after Jan 1, 1948 to pass on citizenship, although this requirement isn't always enforced.
