Is it possible to have a dual citizenship with US...and somewhere else?

If you are already a US citizen (natural born), can you apply to be a citizen of a different country without having to lose your US citizenship?
Additional Details
I was thinking of the Netherlands and the US...
as I was thinking of relocating there. However, I wouldn't want to lose my US citizenship, if I were to apply for citizenship there.

The US does not have any laws against dual citizenship. You can only lose your citizenship if you perform an expatriating act with the intention of losing it:

Until a few years back, naturalizing in another nation was considered evidence of positive intent to abandon your US nationality. US rules have since been considerably liberalized, and your major problem may be with the other nation.

of course you may , certain countries do not allow dual citizenship ,
India does not allow dual citizenship ......
German , in only certain cases .......
