I entered the US with tourist visa but eventually found a job. I am legally working with an H1B but without the stamp. I plan to go home and get the stamp but they say it is risky as the US Consulate can deny the visa, which would jeopardize everything. Has anyone done this before? Is is really risky? I am a bundle of documents to show the Consulate.
Additional Details
I do not have the stamp. I was told you can only get the stamp outside of the US, home country being strongly recommended.

If you are legally working in the US in H1b status based on an approved petition, you shouldn't have a problem. Of course, if that's all true, you should have paperwork from DHS proving that, like an I-765 Notice of Action form. The embassy won't deny the visa unless there's a good reason to. And there isn't based on what you've said here. |

Can an H-1B alien travel outside the U.S.?
Yes. An H-1B visa allows an alien holding that status to reenter the U.S. during the validity period of the visa and approved petition.

you may leave the US, and re-enter the US as long as you have all the necessary documents
