United States law states that when one parent is a United States Citizen, the child is automatically a United States citizen. When the other parent is not a US citizen, they are granted dual citizenship but still considered, for all intensive purposes, an American citizen. Therefore, your son should refer to himself as a Spanish American.
Stating that he was born in Spain but is a citizen of the US. |

I just met a Cuban who is 46 lives in Miami for 40 years and denies being American. Says he is Cuban.
I assume at 2 years old its how you indoctrinate. Do like all the other people that come to the USA If the situation benefits him to be American then he is American. At all other times he is Spanish |
