There are so many variations on this scam that it hardly matters what nationality is being claimed. By the way, since you're dealing with folks on-line, there isn't any guarantee that they're even girls for that matter. How would you know? You do see it a lot in Nigeria, and they're quite notorious, but it's not limited to that country, or that continent. You get Nigerians pretending to be Americans, sometimes living in parts of Africa and sometimes pretending to live here. Once you've established a relationship, then they start to tell you about their "real" situation and how you, dear beloved, can help. Or they fall into illness and need your immediate help, or they might die. The visa/passport scam continues after you've been kind enough to send money to help them come to the US. I've seen Americans who were contacted while the lovely lady in question is supposed to be en route. They're arrested in Amsterdam or Paris or London, and now, if only you'd send a few thousand more, they'll be able to make it to you, and you'll both be happy at last. But you're instructed to send the money back to Nigeria, where some facilitator is going to do the leg work. Once someone like this has their hooks into you, you can be sure they'll take you for as much as possible. Doesn't mean there aren't any real people out there, but don't rush into relationships leading with your wallet.

They get girls from Nigeria and I guess Ghana for you, they always have a sad story about how they are trapped in a hotel and they ask you to pay the hotel and the airfare and she will be a good girlfriend when she flies to the states.
I suspect its the same person who does this...... Very annoying.

i have been talking to a girl for a couple of weeks on skype video her name is ruth offei she appears genuine can any one tell me is it bullshit and yes she has asked me for money for a passport but she is white and strips of naked am i getting fooled ?
