Is there a visa that allows foreign nationals to retire in the U.S. if they have sufficient income?

I am an American retired in Mexico and I know many countries allow Americans to obtain visas to reside in their country if the retiree meets income standards. What if a foreign citizen, wants to retire in the U.S.? I have not been able to locate any info on this. Thanks.
Additional Details
If they have ti apply to immigrate ( apply for a gren card) that is certainly more difficult than in many countries...I presume the same is true for the U.K. and E.U countries...as all these are most difficult to immigrat to.

Although you can prove you wont be a burden on society with your income.
I dnt think its possible to reside in the US permanently for retirement reasons.
