Is there a way i can get a job?

im on h4 visa status.my husband emotionally abuses me.i want to divorce him.but he says if i leave him i wont have a visa.is it true.can i get a job here in u.s.im a medical graduate from india.can somebody advice me

you can petition due to undue hardship but im not sure of the success rate. probably good if he physically abused you but not good if you can only claim emotional abuse.

If you look at the US INS site or call their office you will find out that it is possible for a woman to get a visa to stay in the USA if the spouse abuses her.

the best solution in my opinion...is.. go back to india....and as you are a medical graduate...try to come back to usa..on your "medical education ground" with help of your parents or welwishers in india..[if at all u wish come to USA and settle ] and to divorce him[if u wish to] either from india or after u come back to USA..think twice..seek advice from welwishers..Best of Luck..

How can you prove he emotionally abuses you?

The preponderance of the evidence is what you have to prove.

Merely claiming it will not be successful.

Why can't you go back to India if he treats you so badly?

Many people falsely claim spousal abuse to try to stay in the USA, but immigration judges get tired of hearing lies.

India needs your skills more than the USA does.
