Is there any Al Qaeda operating in Bangkok right now?

There has been a series of bombings going on in the Southern part of Thailand and the main targets are Britons and Americans in the last few months ,and the latest was yesterday when a Canadian School teacher was one of the casualties.

Al Qaeda is no doubt present in Bangkok, but there is nothing to connect them to the current situation in southern Thailand. Tensions have historically run very high in that area between Muslim fundamentalists and the government. If Britons and Americans are being targeted, it is probably a move to disrupt the tourist industry and bring more attention to their cause.

No Al Qaeda in Bangkok. The bombings in Southern Thailand are perpetrated by Muslim radicals trying to gain independence from Thailand but they are not terrorists linked to Al Qaeda.

These bombs are suspected to be inflicted by the local muslim militants who have a different political agenda ...

These militants have been even killing their own local people especially buddhists.
