The French Foreign Legion recruits only within France, and does not help you get a Schengen visa -- you have to get that on your own. Then you go to a recruitment station in Paris or another French city and sign up. And with luck, get accepted. |

Noone can help you join the legion. What you do is you make your way to france to one of the recruiting stations. The easiest one I think would be Mersailles. It's a large city and easily accessible from Paris. You are responsible for your own travel there and all of your expenses up until you are actually signed in. You show up and process just like you would for the United States military and if they take you then you will be compensated. Good luck. |

If you wish to join the French Foreign Legion, you'll need to make your own way to France. There is no international recruiting or assistance in getting you to one of their recruitment centers. The centers are located in the following locations: Aubagne, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Metz, Nantes, Nice, Paris (easiest), Perpignan, Reims, Rouen, Strasbourg, Toulouse.
What you need:
* To be male between the ages of 17 to 40.
* Have a valid ID (from your own country).
* If you are married, the FFL will recruit you under the status of a single person.
* Physically fit to serve (not necessarily in shape as they train you pretty hard).
The selection takes place in Aubagne (close to Marseille). If you get selected you're then sent to Castelnaudary for 4 months of intensive training. Initial contract is 5 years with the possibility of signing extensions for 6 months / 3 years / 5 years.
No need to speak French which will be taught during your training. You'll also receive the French citizenship at the end of your initial contract. Pay is pretty basic.
