Is there anyway around the citizenship requirement when applying to the department of State?

Hi, I want to apply to become a foreign service specialist, however all of the internships, and related careers require you to be a citizen. I am currently a Legal Resident, and have lived here for 18 years (only green card holder for 1) Is there anyway to speed up the citizenship process, or another way i could apply for those similar jobs with out citizenship?

No way. Citizenship is a prerequisite for the Foreign Service. There is no way to speed up citizenship. No exceptions, no excuses. How did you manage to live here for 18 years and you only got a green card a year ago? Sounds like you have a lengthy history of "getting around" the law. Such a questionable background is also going to hold up any Foreign Service application even if you do eventually get citizenship.

Trust me I'm a genius.

Not that I know of I believe for any governmental job you must be a full American citizen.

All jobs for the federal government require that you be a US citizen. Worked in Personnel.
