You don't need visa for 180 days, read here:
http://united-kingdom.visahq.com/
that to get visa for more time contact with UK embassy, here is its addresses in the USA:

Good Luck

A UK can come here with no visa for 90 days, because of the Visa Waiver Program, if you want to stay longer needs to apply for the tourist visa (B2). It will let you be here, just for 6 months. And for that you need to apply in a US embassy or consulate within UK, it cost $131.

No twelve month visa. Instead, you have two options.

First, enter as a tourist without a visa for 90 days or less. Do NOT do this if you want to stay longer than 90 days, or you could be walking down a path that would ban you from the US for life.

Or, go to the US Embassy and get a B-2 tourist visa (see first link below). This visa is valid for 10 YEARS -- but note, this doesn't mean you can stay in the US for ten years! All it means is you can apply for entry to the US at a US airport for the next ten years. Why?

Because it's the US immigration service at the airport that actually lets you in the country, and tells you how long you can stay.

Normally, they grant somebody with a visa a 6-month stay, but you could extend it if you had to, by filing a paper while in the US. See 2nd link below.

Hope this helped.

The Visa B2 allows you to stay up to 6 months

No, the normal authorized stay is 6 months on a B1/B2. you can request a longer stay, but expect lots of questions if you do. or you can request an extension through USCIS after you get here, but well before your authorized stay expires.

I imagine that if the name on your passport is the same as your Yahoo name, you'll be welcomed with open arms. Amongst other things ;-)
