Legalize marriage in UK?

My husband (and English citizen) and I (argentinian) got married in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
We went to the spanish consulate because we wanted to settle on Spain, and they said what we need it to get my residency visa. We did, everything right.
Now the spanish office of foreigners says that we need to legalize our marriage in UK, that proceed doesn't exist apparently.
What should we do?

what you need to do i think is get it so that the laws are meat for both country's not just the one.
see what the differences are in both and try to have it so both are meat.
