Marrying someone with a tourist visa?

I was wondering if i am a us citizen, will i be able to marry someone visiting the US with a visa? If anyone has or known anyone in this type of situation share their story. Basically what needs to be done in this type of situation.

generally the ins does not like when someone gets married on a tourist visa which is the normal visa one gets at the border when just visiting the states....you can do it but it might cost you extra having to go through extra processes

the right way to go about marrying someone that is not a us citizen and doesnt live in the states right now is for you to apply for a K1 Visa....that is a visa with intend of getting married

you apply for it and then your partner has to go to an interview at his american consulate in his home country...

then it all goes from there...i went through this myself so if you have any other questions lemme know

Marrying someone is not the problem. You can even marry an illegal. But that marriage will NOT allow them to stay in the US. They will have to go back to their country and have you petition them. That will take a while.**
