No if your son was born in the US then he will always have his US citizenship. Also it's lose not loose. :) If you do return to the philippines then good luck and I hope your life there is beautiful.

No, if he's born on US soil, he's American. Just be sure and keep some copies (xerox) of his birth certificate and social security card. You may need them upon returning to the US to show proof of his birthright. He's American and no one can take that from him.

NO he is a citizen now!!! once a citizen always a citizen!!!!!!!!!

No. A natural-born does not apply for citizenship. It is a birth right.
Citizenship has no expiration unless renounced. Just make sure he has dual nationality and obtain US and Philippine passport, for immigration purposes.

NO because im a US born and I grew up in the Philippines for 15 years but im still a US citizen.

He would have to renounce his citizenship once he came of age, but he cannot simply lose it. Just keep his paperwork straight, or else he could wind up like the guy in "Born in East L.A." got deported for not having his wallet.
That story is based on a real life story about an american boy of mexican descent, that got caught up in an immigration sweep and was deported to mexico by accident.

Depend on the Philippine law, he may be able to apply for dual citizenship. If not, usually he can be dual citizen until age 18, and he would have to choose.
