Go to your country's nearest embassy or consulate and have your passport renewed pronto. No you do not have to leave the country unless your visa has expired.

You should try and renew it, if not they will probably tell you to back if you can't. Don't leave your job if you have one, most likely you won't be able to get another one.

Contact your country's embassy or consulate. Most of embassy and consulates issue new passport or renew the passport for their citizens abroad.
