Need more ideas about K1 visa pls....?

HI every1.

I am a lady from Philippines, having an american bf. We've known each other for year and half, then he visited me here, met me and my family. Then we also had trip to 1 of the asian countries.
We love each other and we are hoping to be together in his country.
At the moment I'm still here in my country, working.

He is about to file a petition for me; k1 visa.
Now, my question is based on your experience will it be fine if we will just do it directly to gov't, in other words do it w/ own, W/o relying to any agency? OR it will be easier if we have agency (knowing the fact it's our 1st time to do this)
If in case you know some reliable agency I would like to hear it from those who can provide me.

I know this goin to be a big step for him and for me.
And we both really wanna make it sure as possible.

I completed my K-1 visa application on my own. I gathered all the information I needed from myself and my fiance. I completed all the required forms and I had my family members double check my work to make sure that I wasn't missing anything. It isn't hard to complete. Just follow the directions exactly as stated on the application. The websites I used for guidance were, www.uscis.gov and www.immihelp.com (this website gave an in depth explanation of the entire process from start to finish).

AGAIN- YOU DO NOT NEED AN AGENCY- IT WILL COST A LOT OF MONEY JUST TO HAVE A LAWYER DO SOMETHING THAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF COMPLETING.

I must admit, it was intimidating at first, but you can do it. TRUST ME.

This past Tuesday, my fiancÃ©e was approved to come to the United States on a K1 visa. It took exactly 6 months (from the time USCIS received the application December 14, 2009 to the the date of his interview w/ the US Embassy, June 15, 2010). He was approved for the Visa and will be arriving to the USA next weekend.

AGAIN- YOU DON'T NEED THE HELP OF AN AGENCY- Unless you have some sort of criminal background- previously married- but not divorced yet and other matters that may conflict with your current relationship.

http://uscis.com pop on here and read up on the visa. You can down load forms and set up an email alert ready for when you file your papers.

well, of course, your American boyfriend will have to actually file the I-129f petition. He should be able to do it on his own, but have him go to www.uscis.gov and take a look in the forms section where he'll find it. If he finds it too difficult, he can always get professional legal help, but he should be able to do it on his own.

You have some good responses/answers here.
Each case is unique and I'd only suggest that you consider all inputs and learn which situations are applicable to you & your boyfriend.
I see nothing inherently WRONG with using an agency, depending on the time and funds that you have available. While there are costs and legitimacy issues to consider, it might be helpful to at least have an appointment or two so you can both agree on what the best approach is and have an advocate should you encounter any difficulties or a back-up plan.

The majority of people do this on their own without any help. I do not think it is hard to accomplish.
