I am a British citizen who married my american wife on the visa waiver program.We filed all the relevant papers and my case is still in the processing stage.However things havent worked out and I want to return to the UK.I have overstayed my visa waiver by 6 months.Will I have any problem leaving the US.For example what will happen at the airport when I leave? and will I have any problems when I land back in the uk?

You will not have any problems leaving the US, nor should you have any problems in the UK, but... in the first place, you are not allowed to get married on the visa waiver program (VWP) - it is generally considered fraud. Planning to do so is in itself a violation of the VWP, and renders you inelligible to enter the US on VWP in the future. Your overstay makes you additionally inelligible for VWP, and also bars you from entering the US in the future for a period of three years.
