PASSPORT HELP! Thankyou?

I am 17 and need to renew my passport because it is getting out of date this month and I'm going away Skiing in Feb. The only problem is that I have lost my old passport so I guess I'll need to replace it completely now.

I know I'm asking a completely stupid Question but...

When I get the replacement one through will it have the a new expiry date on it so I can use it in Feb, or will it be the old one. In which case I'd then have to renew it as well?

Also how long will it take as I need it by Feb. Will I need interviews etc? I am a British Citizen by the way. Thankyou for bearing with me, if this is a completely stupid question.

You can get a replacement for a lost passport in 1 week, which will cost you Â£97.00. You have to call 0300 222 0000, and make an appointment for a 'FAST TRACK' one week service with your local passport office.
Or you can get apply through the post at a cost of Â£72.00 (which takes roughly 2-3 weeks), by posting your application form into your local passport office.

You will also need to complete a passport form (which you can pick up from your local post office)...sections 1, 2, 3, 9. Section 10 needs to be countersigned by someone who has known you personally for 2 or more years, who isn't related and is of professional standing. You also need to get 2 new photos, one of which needs to be certified on the back by the person who will countersign your form. You also need to complete a LS01 form (which declares your passport as being lost).

Oh and your new passport will replace the old one (which will be canceled as lost) and should be issued for 10yrs. You will not need to attend an interview...there only for adults who are applying for they're first ever passport.

always keep a photocopy of your passport in case you lose it.

the new one when it comes witll be just that, brand new 10 year passport.

the quickest way is to go to Croydon where they have a passport office and apply in person. Much quicker.

you can call them first to check................

It will say on the application form which kind of passport you want to apply for, if you want to be sure, you can call them to re-apply. Hurry though, mine took ages to come through.x

It will be a brand new passport with a full 10 year expiry date.
You also need to report your lost passport.

I filled a passport up 6 months before it expired and they gave me a replacement for 10 and a half years.
You can pay a little extra and have it done while you wait, as long as you can get to a passport office. You have to book an appointment about 2 days in advance. (It doesn't have to be Croydon! I went to Glasgow)
