Are you 18 years or older? If so you can call the cops. If you are under 18, they don't have to give it to you. |

It takes 2 weeks to get your passport. Do that instead. |

A new passport will take about 10 working days to get issued. Maybe you would like to do that. |

They have to give back your property...otherwise it is considered stolen. I would call your local police department and walk in there...they will walk to the house with you. I know there's other numbers beside 9-11 for non serious calls, so look in your phone book. |

The police will gladly escort you into your parents house to retrieve your passport. But for the sake of everyone else involved try one more time to politely ask for it back. Say something like "Are you free tomorrow night I would like to come by and pick up my passport" |

If you are old enough to live on your own, then they cannot hold it against your wishes. You should be able to request the police attend with you to get it and if they refuse at that point they could face arrest.
You can also go to the Canadian embassy and report it stolen and get a new on on a rush (for more $$$$). |

Tell them that for whatever reason they are holding your passport from you, you need it now. It is unlawful for them to do that. Your passport is your property. Tell them that if they do no give back your rightful property, you will call the police. If they still do not give you the passport, ask them why they won't. Then, if you can't resolve it by explaining why you need it, call the cops and tell them that your parents have stolen rightful property of yours, a passport, and hopefully they will fix the problem. I think the police do that. Don't call 911, call the local police station. By the way, if you're under 18 and DO NOT need it for school reasons, then calling the cops won't work. |

I think Jerry Springer style might be the only way you can get it back. Confront the situation head on, otherwise work on getting a new one. |

If you are under 18,then they should keep it.They don't want you leaving the country without them. And if under 18,you are still subject to your parent's wishes. The police will side with your parents unless you are 21 or older. |
