Nothing, unless/until he gets found by the authorities, then he would be deported.

Well they will be out of status. When they leave or when they get deported which ever comes first, their record will be flagged and they will be banned to re-enter for 10 years.

They become an illegal immigrant/alien, and are put on a national list of wanted persons. If you are found, you will be extradited back to your country. If laws apply, you may be tried if prosecuted by law.

They are an illegal immigrant then. They cannot work except for cash under the table, which is illegal, they have no rights of protection in the work place and they live in constant terror of being stopped by the police as such a stop has a high likelihood of their being arrested and deported.
