I have a french visa D, multi entry +1 transit schengen. Can I leave France to another country with this visa ?

Hey, I am sorry, I think I forget some point. I have a long stay student visa valid for 3 months with multi entry +1 transit schengen. Can I leave France with this Visa and then come back while the visa is still valid more 2 months ? I have registered to the school but haven't got the carte de sejour so I am not sure can I come back once i leave, I am Malaysian.

You are holding a long-term national visa for France only (type D). You may transit through one other Schengen country for five days in order to reach your destination (France). This visa is not valid to travel to other Schengen countries, you would need a type C or a combined D/C visa in order to do so.

based on your additional question: If your visa states "MULT" in the "number of entries" column you may use it to travel to France until its expiration date (UNTIL column). Note that this date is given in the day-month-year (DD-MM-YY) format.
As Malaysian citizen you are visa waived for the Schengen area and may travel to any Schengen country on your passport for up to 90 days in a 180 day period as tourist, providing you meet the general entry requirements. (valid passport, financial means)

France is part of the schengen zone, so once you are accepted in the schengen zone you can travel, not to the UK or Switzerland yet,unless i missed something,i have not been here in a while,
i will check on this.
ok, it is still correct about the 2 countries,they are not in the schengen zone yet,

I think thad you would not have any problem with that, because my ex boyfriend was have same Schengen Visa, and he was travelling trouth Europe with out any problem. |
