She's being born in America, she's an American citizen. He has no legal rights as an illegal.

Wait and see how things pan out. You're right not to let him have her on his own, although I really doubt he'd flee to Mexico with her. After all, he came to America and it's where he wants to be.

Don't give her his last name. Just give her yours. See a lawyer if you possibly can.

If worse comes to worst, you can always report him to the authorities! (harsh, but when it comes to protecting your child, no measures are too extreme)

Do not kill your baby like the first selfish person suggested.

That baby will be an American citizen because of your status. But DO NOT let him take the baby unattended. If he goes to his home country with him/her you will never see them again. Also, you could turn him in so he would have to go back. If he's that dishonest I don't think I would want him in my child's life.

To PrettyMona: Yes, he is a criminal! He came here illegally and then faked a green card. That's breaking the law and that makes him a criminal.

As an illegal alien, I don't think he has any legal rights to her. If you are concerned about him running away with her, only allow supervised visitations. Talk to a lawyer to get the best advice in your situation. Most of them will consult for no fee.

Wow - you sure got yourself in a mess, didn't you? I would not give him parental rights - do not acknowledge him as the father. There is a very real risk that he will take the baby back to Mexico! You should consult with a lawyer.

What the heck were you thinking? Ha! I know what you were thinking - my own daughter is madly, passionately in love with an illegal immigrant. What has happened to you is my worst nightmare for my daughter. How old are you? What does your family think of this? Do they even know? My daughter is 23 years old - certainly old enough to know better and she isn't a "stupid" girl, either. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know and she "feels sorry for him." He has recently been deported, but he is already on his way back. I'm sorry, but I have my fingers and toes crossed that he will NEVER make it back here! There is no possible decent future for them together. And, we are in Canada, not the USA, and he is from Honduras, not Mexico, so he has to come a long way, but he says he will make it. He has been deported from the USA several times and from Canada once. He is confident he will be back here soon. I am hoping the Minutemen and the Border Patrol are on their toes and thwart him every time he tries, but he has money and is going to pay a coyote. He probably will make it back again and I foresee my daughter's future as "down the drain" along with that of my future grandchildren. He is 33 years old and has worked in the US off and on, but mostly on, ever since he was 18. He has no desire or intention of trying to immigrate legally because he likes the free plane ride back home every few years to take a holiday and visit his family. It is an adventure to him and he loves it. He made enough money already that makes him like a well-off man in Honduras, but he is greedy and keeps coming back for more. He owns his own business in Honduras that his family work in. They are not poor by Honduran standards. My daughter has been there to visit him and meet his family and she is so in love, it makes me ill to my stomach! I want to shake some sense into her, but alas, she is an adult and can flush her life down the toilet if she so chooses. Just hurts like hell to watch it happen. As well, since in Canada we don't have the employers who hire illegals as much as in the USA and since they cannot as easily get fake SSNs or access social services, they basically turn to selling crack here. My daughter does not do drugs and neither does this guy, yet my daughter justifies his criminal activity as that he "has no choice." I am angry with her on this, too. He has a choice - he has no moral values is what he has, as far as I am concerned! However, she claims that he will not sell crack this time as she is going to support him - oh joy! She makes about $10 an hour - that should be fun! We'll see how that goes! He likes nice things and money - I predict it won't be long before he will be out selling crack again. Breaks my heart - it does!

Don't let the father be alone with your baby. You also need to seek legal advise from an attorney. There are legal services available for people who can't afford an attorney.

Dont give him unsupervised visitation, the baby will be a citizen. He has no rights, so do not leave him alone with the baby.....

you don't have to give him rights. You can have full custody of your baby if he's interested in being a true father he'll put up with your conditions. As far as i know if you have custody of your baby he cannot take her out of the country.. Just becareful and check if he's a good man, maybe he has another family in mexico. If I were you I would check his background if possible.

Your baby, born in the United States will be a citizen of the United States! You can give the baby your last name, that is entirely your choice!! It won't completely protect the baby but it's a start. Get legal advice! Call social services immediately. I'm sure they'll be able to give you some good advice. Take care and good luck!

he can't take your child out of the country without your consent. luckily, your the momma and there's not really much he can do. Especially since he's illegal! Actually, there's not a damn thing he can do. That baby is completely yours dear. You could leave his name off the birth certificate.

assuming y ou are us citizen, you hold all the cards; your child will be us citizen; why do you want to remain in touch with him after he lied, though? Do you want him involved with your child as a liar?

They can take them out of the country because they got there self here they can get back with a child! But more Likly will not happen! If he trys to leave call on him he will not make it n you'll get your child back. I should no I'm in the same thing
