South African Citizenship by decent?

My grandfather was born in S.A on 1930 and immigrated to Israel during the 1950's.
My mother was born in Israel and so did me and my brother.
She was never listed to the S. African authorities. Is it possible for my mother (and then me) to still get the S. African Citizenship because she is the daughter of a South African citizen or is it too late?

Your mother can do it by registering her birth with the South African consulate. Alas you will not get automatic Citizenship as you are not a first descent child.

According to the South African nationality law, a person shall become a South African citizen by descent if at least one parent is South African
