Spelling mistake in passport?

my name is karthik. but in my collage certificates it is karthick.
but while submitting I have submitted my certificates. but in application I have mentioned my name as karthik.
so can I change it now . If what is the procedure to be follwed to get it fixed.

since you are the one who made the mistake ,you will have to notify them , it may cost you to redo your passport
contact the place where you got your passport,make sure you correct this , it may cause you problems later for other document
