The British Foreign office has said that Ireland is still a Terrorist threat to British people.?

The British Foreign office has said that Ireland is still a Terrorist threat to British people.

"There is an underlying threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by expatriates"

What does the general British Population think?

Carry On..!
Almost every country has a threat level, don't take it personally. Just look at the information on France, Germany etc. It simply means that in certain situations things could happen. They're just covering themselves. Even Finland has a threat level, admittedly its low but it's still there.

Its pretty much well known that there are still dissident IRA members, an attack is still possible although the threat is much more likely to come from another source. I doubt they said "Ireland" is a threat because that makes it sound as though the Irish government were some way involved, if they used that term they were wrong.

James below me is correct, they often have to mention other forms of terrorism be it Irish, Far Right or Animal Extremist in order to not offend others sensibilities.

All induced War on Terror hysteria .7/7 was a false flag so beware where ever FBI, Mossad, MI5,MI6 are. British intelligence planted bombs in many Irish towns and bombed Dublin in 1975. Each time they were always using the incompetent Loyalists as their proxies.

I think that things could easily flair up again, but I'm really pleased that the Irish seemed to have found some sort of peace between themselves and the British mainland, it has been an enormous struggle and great cost in human life and finance and I think there will always be the so called Real IRA elements so we still have to keep an eye on stuff generally. Let's just hope that we never go to war with each other again. I love them Irish and I respect them.

I think that is a load of rubbish and is simply a smokescreen to keep the precious muslims out of the limelight yet again. The one and only threat to life as we know it is from islam. People know that and should speak up while there is still time.

?
Attacks on UK High streets by Irish theme pubs. Its a kind of stealth terrorism.

Helen and Lord Daydreamer are talking through their backsides. northern Ireland is part of the UK because that is the way they voted for it during the foundation of the Irish Republic. As an Englishman I have never ever had any trouble on my visits to Eire although in one or two places I have realised that welcome is not particularly on the mat but I have had that in London East End and Manchester pubs. However there will always be someone who will start up trouble again because you will not solve 400 years sometimes blind and unreasoning hatred in 10 years. Particularly when the real reasons have ben lost in rumour and legend.

Another point is that if you try to talk sense into anyone on the Irish question you are wasting your time which is why I don't know why the hell I've bothered here

As Britain invaded Ireland and still occupies a large portion of it against the will of the vast majority of Irish people i reckon the odd Brit will get his head kicked in occasionally , but that said as the entire police force in Northern Ireland is British not Irish any Irishman handing out such a beating will obviously receive the same only 10 times worse while in handcuffs and locked in a cell .

Some things never change .

I agree with the F.O. British people are not welcome in the R.O.I. and the best advice is do not go there
