There's a Texan Embassy in London near Trafalgar Square, do you have to apply there to live in Texas?

If you wanted a US visa but couldn't get one, could you get a Texan visa alternatively? Could you get a US visa but be refused entry into Texas? Also, considering that Texas was only an independent country - under President General Sam Houston I believe - for only about a year, wouldn't that have been too short a time to arrange overseas embassys normally, or did they carry on building it after Texas became a state of the Union?

Very droll...

As I believe someone once mentioned, the Texas Embassy is a Tex-Mex Restaurant, although a bit pricey, so I can't give you a review yet...

Texas was an independent country briefly, as you said, they seceded from Mexico -where it had been Tejas- because Mexico had outlawed slavery.

So the name does stem from the historical existence of a Texas Embassy in that part of town, but no, it's a ribs-n-tacos joint now.

Thats a restaurant not an embassy

The Texan Embassy at the back end of Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London, is not an 'embassy'. The Texas Embassy of which you speak is a bar/restaurant.

You really used to (and should again now).

Six Flags Theme Parks in the US commemorate the six countries texas has been a part of in modern times:
