Hi... I want to call my parents and in laws to US from India. I am an Indian on a l1 visa. I want to however "invite" them and not "sponsor" their trip.

First of all, can I just invite them and not sponsor their trip?

1. If yes, what should the invite letter say?
- I am sponsoring their travel or will they do it?
- Separate for all my family members?
2. Should a copy of invite letter go to the consulate?
3. When should invite letter be sent to Consulate?
4. Will they need air ticket copy when they go for the interview?
5. Will I need something (document) specific for my Mother in law?
