US Embassy scheduling a student visa interview in London, the earliest date for an interview is too late?

I am a UK citizen and I have enrolled at a university in America. I willing be applying for an F1 Visa, all my paperwork is in order. I just need to attend the interview.

I have to register for classes on the 16th December and the classes begin by the 6th January. At the very latest I must attend a class by the 12th January or I will have to attend the next semester/term in the Autumn which I do not wish to do.

I called to make an appointment, the earliest I have been given is the 6th January, the day classes start.

Is there any way the US embassy can take special consideration and give me an earlier interview as I would consider any date and time. I have wrote a letter to the embassy pleading my case, but will it be read? Secondly the operator said I could try and call periodically their £1.20 per min tel no. to see if there are any canceled appointments but I see this is unlikely as its $135 to book an appointment in the first place. Can anyone offer me advice.

you can definitely contact the US embassy and ask for special consideration. They do consider screening applications of students quickly in deserving cases.

most countries can issue visas at customs if you have the paperwork on you at the airport. call and ask.
