Hi,

I am from India working in SAP technology. I want to work in US for next few years. What are the eligibility criteria for applying H1/B visa on my own. Do my employer provide this to me? How much is the cost for H1 visa? How much time it take to get approved? Please tell me any consultancy/agencies or employer in India who offer to get H1. Please share all information you have on H1 visa process with me.

I heard some consultant/agencies work for getting H1 and after that they transfer to new employer over in US

You can't apply H1 visa on your own.

An employer must sponsor your application.

You must be sponsored by an employer. I was already in the US on a TN visa when these started to seem insecure and I decided i needed the H-1B. It cost $5000 by the time we were done and my attorney did it.
