I have a copy, since my original is back in Malaysia...
It says that I need a birth certificate w/ a seal...I dont't think mine has a seal, at the bottom it says...
This is to certify that the attached is a true copy of a record file in the Onondaga County department of health. Valid only when impressed with the Official seal of the Health department.
& then at the left there's a box with a signature in it
&& or can I use my schoool records or school card even???
or my custody " legal guardian" letter ???

School records won't confirm that you are a US citizen; only proof of either birth in the US or naturalization can do that. If you are a citizen by birth, you apparently need to provide a new copy of your birth certificate. You can get one from the county: here is how

I assume you mean you need a birth certificate in order to obtain a passport? If you have a passport it will suffice for almost anything a birth certificate would be needed for, unless you need to show who your parents were, for example...
On your birth certificate: if the certification statement on the copy is an ORIGINAL (not a xerox copy or something) and the statement is done by machine and in multiple colors, for example, it may in fact be a valid certified copy. Ask anyone in law enforcement or a lawyer to look at it, heck, even a notary public can tell you if it's certified copy. Might be.
If not, then you need to get a certified copy from the county or state vital records , and another commenter put in a link for that. |
