I'm a Permanent Resident in Canada and I'm supposed to get my citizenship in 5 month. I wanted to go to US for a weekend, but I got denied right after I was asked personal questions about my marriage. I've been married married in Canada for 2 years, but now I got divorced.
Additional Details
I'm Russian. I got to Canada first and then I got married and I do have reasons to stay in Canada, coz I have my job here and two daughters.

It depends on what country issued your passport. And if you entered Canada to marry and stayed married less than 2 years, they may suspect you have no reason to stay in Canada and they suspect you are traveling to the USA to stay.

Maybe you should wait till you get your citizenship, canadian passport then go to the us. They will not have a reason to deny you entry.**
