Visa for Switzerland ....?

Switzerland is going to become a member of the Schengen agreement by December 12, 2008 and will start to issue Schengen visa after that date. The embassy in Kuwait is responsible for dealing with visa issues for residents of Qatar. If you should stay in Qatar just on a temporary work visa I am afraid you cannot apply for a Swiss visa at all and would have to do it back in Skopje.

Information regarding Visa application
Please note that...

â€¢ the visa application must be submitted to the Swiss Embassy/Consulate covering your place of residence.
â€¢ a visa application not submitted to the Swiss Embassy/Consulate covering your place of residence may be turned down if the reasons for submission to any other Swiss Embassy/Consulate seem unclear.
â€¢ you must have sufficient financial resources to cover your cost of living in Switzerland; as a rule, an amount of SFr. 100.- per day is considered sufficient.
â€¢ the Swiss Embassy/Consulate may demand a declaration of sponsorship.
â€¢ a visa without explicit authorization by the responsible authorities allows only a temporary stay in Switzerland.
â€¢ you may enter Switzerland only during the period of use specified in your visa.
â€¢ the maximum duration of your stay in Switzerland is specified in your visa.
â€¢ you may not take up employment during your stay in Switzerland nor take up studies exceeding a period of three months without the required permit.

Visa for any Schengen country must be applied for at the Embassy of the country you plan your predominantly stay within the Schengen area. If your stay should be equally distributed then it must be applied for at the embassy of the country in which you enter the Schengen area. If you would try to apply for example at the German embassy in Doha they would turn your application down if you would present a flight ticket and a hotel reservation for Switzerland.

Switzerland has an embassy in Kuwait which is the accredited embasshy for Doha among other coutries, that is where you need to apply for a visa:

and you cannot apply in any schengen countries for a visa toward Switzerland.

Switzerland has not yet joined Schengen but will do so very shortly (likely in December). Until that time you need a Swiss visa to enter Switzerland.
After Switzerland joins in December you can enter Switzerland with a Schengen visa, which, if no Swiss embassy is present, may be issued by another Schengen country's embassy in Doha.
