Someone sponsored me to work in saudi arabia..he told me that he already have my visa staped but it will be release after 8 weeks ...my question is ..is it what they called an open visa wherein employer applied for a visa for the person they are hiring and is it really took so long to release a visa even if it is stamped..thanks

Visa for Saudi Arabia
KSA work visa is first applied by your employer/sponsor through an office called "Istekdam Office" under ministry of interior. Once the visa application papers submitted it takes approx 4 week times. They there is some sort of processing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and finally attestations also required from Chamber of Commerce. Ministry of foreign affairs then forward the visa to the concerned Saudi Embassy Abroad. Once the visa information is received at Saudi Embassy in your country. You will then apply for this visa to be stamped in your passport. Embassy will then allow you one month travel time to make reservation and proceed.
