-if you are an American citizen and naturally born citizen, you don't need to have a Visa to enter Algeria, instead a permission permit for a short period of stay like tourism perhaps.
-but if you are an American citizen but not a natural born citizen, it will depend on your country of origin where you had been in order for the embassy to grant a visa for you to enter Algeria.
-mostly, American passport holders can have a permission to stay to any country for a period of one month (or 90days), applicable to be extended if you want to stay longer than expected.
