They are illegal aliens with bogus "claims." There are no more Aleksandr Solzhenytsins. Instead, they pay smugglers for "asylum school" - a crash course in creating a "story" to "support" an application for asylum in case they get caught as illegal aliens.
I interviewed the head of one office which has a huge percentage of its claims coming from Haitians who have been caught illegally entering or as illegal aliens already within the US. Over one-third of the applications said "My father-in-law was killed by the Tonton Macoutes." (Exact same wording on thousands of applications!) Of course, the Tonton Macoutes are long gone (and were gone before some of these "applicants" were even born). Yet by law each application must be adjudicated. Over 90% of the applicants never appear for their hearing. Of those who showed up, all were found to be false.
This is not only true of Haitians but of 99.99% of applicants from whatever country they come from. They not only violate immigration laws, but commit perjury on asylum applications, obtain benefits they are later found not to have qualified for, etc. It is all a gigantic con game to bleed taxpayers.
Of those who obtained asylum in the UK, almost all promptly (within less than 6 months) returned to their own country as soon as they got asylum, thereby obtaining benefits (free housing, food, cash aid, etc). In short, British citizens fund "asylum seekers'" vacations back home. |
