What amount of money is ´sufficient´for 6 month uk tourist visa?

I am trying to get my boyfriend a 6month uk tourist visa to come and stay with me and i dont know how much he needs to have in his bank in order to prove he can support himself. He is going to open a bank next week as until now he hasnt needed one. His family are wealthy as they have a soya farm so his income is through his family. However, he himself has no papers proving he has anything. any help on anything would be great, we are aiming to go for the fiance visa in a year when we have built up credible finances and joint bank statements. thanks in advance for any help or advice.

im english and my boyfriend is argentine and we both work in polo, in the uk for 6mnths and in winter elsewhere...next summer we want to work together but finding it difficult to get two jobs in uk as he need a work visa so im looking at getting him a visitor visa..how much money is needed in order to prove he has sufficient funds to support himself? any help would be much appreciated.

Its not really a case of how much money is needed, there is no exact figure.
The documents that are needed for your application are.
1 ) Bank statements covering a period of about 12 months ( variable )
2) Proof of income
3) Proof of accommodation.( ie mortgage statements/rent receipts )
4 ) Utility bills in your name.
5 ) Phone bills showing that you are in regular contact with each other.
6 ) proof that you have met in person over a period of time ( not just a two week holiday ) such as photographs in recognisable locations.
7 ) The eco will also need evidence that your b/friend will return to Argentina under the conditions of a tourist visa.
8) A letter from his employer on letter headed paper stating when he is expected to return to work and what his salary,length of service etc
9 Obviously a passport.

These are the basic documents that you will need to present to the British consulate in Argentina to support your application.
Also check on the border agency website as things can change frequently.

Please understand that obtaining a visitors visa is a difficult objective and many many people are refused a visa for no apparent reason.
Entry clearence officers tend to be less than helpful in issueing visas,,but good luck

that wont work. U need to have at least Â£3,000 in uk account. The customs and immigration control wa**ers think that he's gna tr shift here in the UK. U need proof to say that he is not trying to permanently reside in the uk as he has a wealthy business where he is the manager. It is his duty to be there but he just wants to visit the UK. Your best bet is to say your coming here to look for business extention opportunities and the most u'll get visa length would b about 3 months. But even then they will say no. All the worldwide recession talk we are still financially strong as all other countries are going down. Honestly, i think your better getting him a normal visiting visa. There is a slight chance he'l get a tourist visa but ull need to prove he has a permanent set life in his home country. Now ive given you a hed start...u do the rest:)

when i was going to move to Australia you had to have enuff for a ticket home for a 12 month visa .

hey there, i wanted to ask what are the chances that my boyfriend would get a uk visa from saudi arabia. He has roughly 3000 pounds uk money in his bank to proof he will be staying from his own money, although his money was given by his father which he will state in his visa application that his father helped him with that. also in terms of proving that he is not trying to gain uk residency, he is working as a supervisor at pepsico company, he lives with his family, he can provide details of him home etc. so therefore, what are the chances of gaining a uk tourist visa for maximum of 1 month, minimum 1 week? is there anything he can do to increase his chances? any good reasons to state that he is just coming for a visit? thankyou for your time.
