In an Emergency, the New Zealand High Commission (or embassy, as appropriate) is able to provide certain types of assistance and guidance to any New Zealander in serious distress (for example, if you have been involved in an accident, been hospitalised, arrested and detained, or you have lost your passport).
The Consular Section is also able to assist with routine matters such as:
Assistance with affidavits, affirmations, statutory declarations, witnessing documents, service of legal documents, and wills.
Recording of citizens on a consular database.
Process passport applications for issuance.
Assistance with citizenship applications, registration of births, deaths and marriages.
Provision of overseas voting facilities for New Zealand citizens during New Zealand parliamentary and local authority elections or referenda.

Providing you are not an embarrassment to the country you are applying to leave no they cannot lend you money but they will help you get home providing you have contact at home that they can recuperate out of pocket expenses they will help all they can but they are just there to ensure nothing goes pearshaped with their respective subjects & at the same time look after & promote the good will of their respective country albeit who ever? |
