What do you do if you fail the FSO test?

Since the test is only once a year, what do you do for a job if you fail the foreign service officer test?

you're going to need a job while you're applying to the FS anyway. It will take months after you take the FSOT even if you pass for them to call you back, then months to get the oral interview. Then even if you get selected, you just get put on a list and then assigned to a duty station on the basis of how high your scores were. If you haven't been assigned after a year you have to start the whole thing again.

It takes a looong time.

You can take the written exam once every 11 months. Sign up for the exam later this year. They are offering the exam four times a year.
