I think it was long overdue. The US government and ruling class has funded the opposition party and backed a coup to overthrow the most popular president in Latin American history. I think Comandante Chavez's loving nature is a little too profound sometimes, like this case of allowing an extremely hostile imperialist government's ambassador to remain in the country that long, and cases like him letting go virtually unpunished those who participated in the coup of 2002.

Chavez's degree of craziness has a negative correlation with the price of oil. The last time the price of oil was seriously falling he threatened to invade Colombia. He pulls this kind of garbage to give oil speculators an excuse to bump up the price.

As a dictator this benefits him in two ways. First it keeps his head out of a noose since he knows if oil collapsed the destruction he has caused to his country's economy would become evident. Second, he needs to focus the attention of his slaves upon some outside "evil" that is going to attack them if HE is not there to protect them. A classic example is Enver Hoxha and his construction of 700,000 concrete bunkers to protect Albania from American invaders, who in reality cared less about their POS country. Hitler, Mussolini, Kim Il, Hoxha.... Chavez, they are all the same.

Chavez was damned by the USA the moment he refused to sell them oil at "mates rates" unlike his predecessors, who would have sold their souls for some kickbacks and a bit of political favour. Chavez is a democratically elected leader of a sovereign nation, and until the USA treats him with some respect, he is under no obligation to follow any US-interests led doctrine.

I'm not suprised after all the name calling he had to endure from bush.

ITs just another gesture to show that he really dislikes the adminstration.....do not forget he said he'd be perfectly willing to deal with the next administration.

Who can blame the guy? Heres a democratically elected leader trying to help his people and because his ideals don't line up with Bush's he's a dictator...and so what he's a socialist he's in south america! The day he tries to turn the USA into a socialist country then we can talk
