I was wanting to know what all kind of work experience and scholing I would need to go through to be able to work for a U.S. embassy in some other country. Not necessarily the the head honcho, one of the suits that can say that he works there. Any help?

Well, as far as I could figure, you need a college degree and then you need to pass the foreign service test, which is incredibly difficult or at least it was when I took it. Since I didn't even finish it, I didn't pass and wasn't called in for the second round. I do know that if you are hired, you are going to go where no one wants to, like Iraq or the middle of know where in Africa some place. It won't be pleasant and it won't be very safe. You won't be able to get to know the locals, except for those who work at the embassy, which may not be representative of the people. Even going to the local market will be dangerous. You'll have to do many, many years in those places before you get to Paris, Berlin, London, or Rome.
